Step 1

Start here

Firstly, fill in our host application form link below, your reply will have a document attached, please read it. 

Secondly, please fill in our fire risk & gas safety assessment (don’t worry if you forget we can do this later on our visit)

Thirdly, It’s really important that you fully understand our host family guidelines contract, our host family agreement with you, and our fire risk assessment form before applying. These will guide you through what our students expect during their stay, our expectations of you to become a host family

Step 2

Gather documents

Next, upload or email:

– Your ID (passport or driving license);
– Your Gas Safety or Direct Heating certificate;
– current Utility bill last 3 months;
– Fully enhanced DBS certificate (under 18,s)

 

Step 3

Home visit

We can arrange a host family visit with your family with one of our team, who will go through the following so be prepared:

1. Our home-stay checklist;
2. Take pictures of the family, room, and some areas of your home;
3. Verify copies of all IDs (these are kept confidential to us only);
4. Go through our risk assessment;

Step 4

Get insurance

Duty of Care;

To become a host family, you have your duty of care, you should add that you have students to your home on your house insurance policy in case of any claim, and you should add business insurance on your vehicle insurance which is free of charge to meet our duty of care policy too. 

Step 5

Your all set!

Once we’re happy and you are too!

Your family will become part of our fully registered host family team and we can start to offer you placements when a student becomes suitable for your family.


Mini Stay dates:

Our mini stays start from mid-February – March to the end of June.  Sept & Oct

Every Monday weekly for a 3 or 4-night stay.

Full Board:  Location: (drop at 07.30-8.15 am and collect at 7.00 pm daily – Honiton Road Park & Ride)

Further location’s coming for 2025.

You can have up to 4 students per home.  You can earn Tax-free:

For example £400 for 4 students for 4 nights.

2nd July – 12th July

16th July – 26th July


10-day stays taught at Exeter University Campus on a Half Board basis with a bus pass. 

For example – you can earn for 2  students for a 10-night stay £560

Referrals: 

Do you know someone who’d make the perfect host and has a spare room?
We will offer you £25 for every family you refer.
We will get this over to you after the families completed their second homestay with us.
