Step 1

Start here

Firstly, fill in our host application form link below, your reply will have a document attached, please read it. 

Secondly, please upload your gas safety certificate (don’t worry if you forget we can do this later on our visit when we do the fire risk assessment)

Thirdly, It’s really important that you fully understand our host family guidelines contract, our host family agreement with you before applying. These will guide you through what our students expect during their stay, our expectations of you to become a host family

Step 2

Gather documents

Next, upload or email:

– Your ID (passport or driving license);
– Your Gas Safety or Direct Heating certificate;
– current Utility bill last 3 months;
– Fully enhanced DBS certificate for all members in the family for (under 18,s)

Step 3

Home visit

We can arrange a host family visit with your family with one of our team once all the application is finalised, we can go through the following with you so be prepared:

1. Our home-stay checklist;
2. Take pictures of the family, room, and some areas of your home;
3. Verify copies of all IDs (these are kept confidential to us only);
4. Go through our fire risk assessment with you in your home

Step 4

Get insurance

Duty of Care;

To become a host family, you have your own duty of care, all insurance policies should be told to add that you have students in your home in case of any accidental damage or broken item  claim you may need to make (this is the host families responsibility), you should also please add business insurance on your vehicle insurance which is free of charge to meet our duty of care policy

Step 5

Your all set!

Once we’re happy and you are too!

Your family will become part of our fully registered host family team and we can start to offer you placements when a student becomes suitable for your family.

Our Exeter Centres mini stay dates:

Start from mid-February – March to July.  Sept & Oct

Every Monday weekly for a 3 or 4-night stay – Full board (breakfast, pack lunch & evening meal)

Further location’s coming for 2026

You can have up to 2/3/4 students per home per stay

Our Summer School runs in July:

1st July – 11th July

15th July – 25th July

These are a 10-day stay at Exeter University Campus on a Half Board basis provided with a bus pass. 

You can earn  for a 10-night stay from  £580+

Referrals: 

Do you know someone who’d make the perfect host and has a spare room?
We will offer you £35 for every family you refer.
We will get this over to you after the families completed their second homestay with us.
