Becoming a Host Family

Become a host family
Welcome new friendly faces into your home

Step 1

**Start Here**

Firstly, please complete our host application form using the link provided below. Once you submit the form, you will receive a document attached to your reply. Make sure to read it carefully.

Secondly, kindly upload your gas safety certificate. If you forget to do this, don’t worry; we can collect it during our visit when we conduct the fire risk assessment.

Thirdly, it’s crucial that you fully understand our host family guidelines and the host family agreement before applying. These documents outline the expectations of our students during their stay and what we expect from you as a host family.

Step 2

Please gather the following documents:

To complete your application, please provide the following documents:

1. A form of identification, such as a passport or driver’s license.

2. Your Gas Safety or Direct Heating certificate.

3. A current utility bill from the last three months.

4. A fully enhanced DBS certificate for all family members under 18 years old.

Once you have gathered these documents, please upload them or send them via email. Thank you!

Step 3

Home visit

We can arrange a visit to your home with one of our team members once your application is finalized. During this visit, we will cover the following items, so please be prepared:

1. Our home-stay checklist.

2. Photos of your family, your room, and some areas of your home.

3. Verification copies of all IDs (these will be kept confidential).

4. A review of our fire risk assessment in your home.

Step 4

Get insurance

**Duty of Care:**

As a host family, you have a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of your students. It’s essential to notify your insurance provider that you will have students in your home. This is necessary in case you need to claim for any accidental damage or broken items; it is the host family’s responsibility to manage these claims. Additionally, please ensure you add business insurance to your vehicle insurance, which is typically free, to comply with our duty of care policy.

Step 5

Your all set!

Once we’re all happy, your family can join our registered host family team. We can then start offering you placements when a suitable student becomes available for your family.
